A Filipina Beauty by Vicente Alvarez Dizon
As part of the National Museum PH’s celebration of National Womens Month, the National Museum of the Philippines presents “A Filipina Beauty” by Vicente Alvarez Dizon, from the National Fine Arts Collection.
“A Filipina Beauty” features a young, fair-skinned Filipina lady with her body facing front, while her head is tilted towards her left. She is wearing a terno with her loose black hair flowing towards her right shoulder and chest. The painting symbolizes the simple, yet graceful elegance of Filipina women.
You may view this featured artwork at The Early 20th Century Philippine Portrait Hall (Gallery IX) of the National Museum of Fine Arts. We are open Tuesdays to Sundays, from 9 AM to 6 PM. The entrance is free!
