Almaciga Tree (Agathis philippinensis Warb.)
Almaciga is a large coniferous tree that can grow to a height of 50 to 60 meters, with its trunk reaching up to 3 meters in diameter.
Endemic to the Philippines, it is usually found in primary forests at medium to high altitudes.
Almaciga yields high resin, commonly known as “Manila Copal,” which can be used to make varnishes, lacquer, soap, paint, printing inks, linoleum, shoe polish, floor wax, plastic, water-proofing materials, and various other products.
