Dr. Annabelle P. Villalobos

Dr. Annabelle P. Villalobos is a remarkable specialist in the field of biotechnology. She is recognized for her notable contributions to biochemistry and biopharmaceutical drug development from the laboratory to the marketplace. Her abilities as a researcher and mentor are demonstrated by her successful training workshops at Johnson & Johnson, which resulted in a significant reduction in manufacturing errors and an increase in personnel retention.
Dr. Villalobos worked as a technical expert lead in an important blockbuster biotech drug EPREX® of Johnson & Johnson. EPREX® is a life-saving drug that is used to treat anemia in chronic renal failure, chemotherapy in cancer, AIDS, and autologous donation for perisurgery. She is also engaged in encouraging and mentoring young scientists from the Philippines by providing some financial support to help them qualify for graduate scholarships and assistantships in the United States and Asia.
CM Villalobos obtained her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of San Agustin in 1976, her Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of the Philippines in 1981, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, United States in 1990. She was elected to the Academy as a Corresponding Member in 2020.
