Artemio Ricarte Shrine
Artemio Ricarte is known as the Father of the Philippine Army, he is remarkable for never having taken an oath of allegiance to the American Government.
Artemio Ricarte y Garcia is the first chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. A trusted officer of Emilio Aguinaldo, he was the general during the Philippine Revolution and the Philippine-American War.
Originally the birth house of Artemio Ricarte, the Ricarte National Shrine is located in Batac, Ilocos Norte.
