Butlak Balangaw: Commemorating Women’s Month in the Baryo” is a community activation that Baryo Balangaw Creative Initiatives spearheads this month with a series of activities including All Women and Girls Artistic Uprising, Climate Education Campaign and Exhibition, and Focus Group Dialogue.
The various sessions of training workshops, school-wide educational campaigns and exhibitions, and a public talk will take place at the Caninguan National High School, our academic collaborator, in Lambunao, Iloilo. There will be training engagements with their Supreme Student Government Officers, Senior Scout organization, and several room-to-room presentations to selected grade levels.
In addition, training for the climate education campaign will be offered to the Balangaw Teen members who will then be presenting the topic to their younger fellows – the Balangaw Bulilit; while the Balangaw Women will also undergo facilitators training and conduct a presentation in a community church group. This campaign is part of the International Teaching Artist Collaborative’s ITAC Impact: Climate Project which inspires the theme of “Women and Girls in the HeArt of Climate Actions”.
