Cirilo F. Bautista was a poet, fictionist, and essayist with exceptional achievements and significant contributions to the development of the country’s literary arts. As a teacher of literature, he brought poetry and fiction closer to people who otherwise would not have the opportunity to develop their creative talent. He has updated students and student-writers on literary developments and techniques, particularly in creating innovations in poetic structure and use of metaphor. His major works include ‘Summer Suns’, ‘Words and Battlefields’, ‘The Trilogy of Saint Lazarus’ and ‘Galaw ng Asoge’.
