Dr. Analyn A. Cabras

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Dr. Analyn A. Cabras, a beloved member of the scientific community and a dedicated Research Associate at the National Museum of the Philippines – Zoology Division.
Dr. Cabras first visited the museum in late 2022, where she conducted an assessment of the zoological collection. Shortly thereafter, she became a Research Associate, focusing on the curation of Curculionidae, her chosen taxon.
She made significant contributions to the museum by initiating a functional reference collection of weevils, which will serve as an invaluable resource for future researchers and enthusiasts alike. Her passion for her work was evident in all that she did, and her meticulous research greatly enhanced our understanding of these fascinating creatures.
In addition to her work with the Weevil collection, Dr. Cabras played a vital role in publishing numerous research papers, helping to elevate the standards of academic scholarship within our institution. Her commitment to fostering knowledge and sharing her expertise inspired her colleagues and many students.
Dr. Cabras’s legacy will endure through the impact she made and the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but her contributions to the field and her unwavering spirit will forever remain an integral part of our museum’s story. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
