Francis Burton Harrison was hailed as the “Father of Modern Day Muntinlupa” honoring his contributions and patriotism towards the Philippines and some of its cities. His contributions to Muntinlupa included signing Executive Order 108 wherein Muntinlupa redefined its own territory as an independent Municipality from the Province of Rizal on December 19, 1917.
As Governor-General, he declared the Democratic Party’s intention to seek independence for the Philippines. He also acted as an adviser during World War II to the President of the Philippine Commonwealth Former Pres. Manuel Quezon.
