Celebrate Pinoy music with us this fourth week of July as we open Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino (LMP) pursuant to Proclamation No. 933 signed in 2014. The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is designated as the lead agency to ensure the successful celebration in the Philippines and is implemented annually in coordination and in partnership with the Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM).

As we celebrate Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino, we look forward to hearing more Filipino music on our airwaves!

We call on our radio station’s support to play original Filipino music as mandated by Executive Order No. 255, s. 1987 requiring all radio stations with musical format programs to broadcast a minimum of four original Pilipino musical compositions in every clock hour. The same order defines original Pilipino music as any musical composition created by a Filipino, whether the lyrics be in Pilipino, English, or in any other language or dialect.

This year’s Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino is being spearheaded by the NCCA in partnership with FILSCAP and Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit.

After two years of celebrating LMP virtually, we return to cater to a live audience. NCCA, in partnership with the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC), is set to stage a live concert through the Concert at Park program at the Rizal Open Air Auditorium on July 24, 2022 (Sunday) at 6:00 PM. A total of thirteen (13) artists, including musicians from Visayas and Mindanao, will join the concert.

The NCCA also partnered with the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (FISLCAP) on their 8th Annual Master Lecture Series, which features renowned Filipino songwriters who share their tips, songwriting process, and stories behind their compositions that have become part of our growing collection of Original Filipino Songs. The lectures will start at 7:30 p.m. and streamed via FILSCAP and NCCA Official FB Pages.
