On this day, March 14, in 2020, Community quarantine in Metro Manila has been formally effective to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country. Land, air, and sea travel to and from the National Capital Region (NCR) are strictly prohibited.

On this day, March 14, in 1947, President Roxas and US Ambassador Paul V McNutt signed the Military Bases Agreement in Malacañang. It allows the Americans to have military bases in the country for 99 years.
