On this day, March 4, in 1899, the First Philippine Commission led by Dr. Jacob G Schurman arrived in Manila. Their duty is to study the situation in the Philippines and make recommendations to the American government.

Today in 1933 was the inauguration of President Franklin D Roosevelt of America. He was the 32nd president of the country which caused it to rise from the Great Depression and win WW II.
