New UNESCO World Heritage Site Marker For Paoay Church
The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), the UNESCO Philippine National Commission (UNACOM), and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) unveiled the new UNESCO World Heritage Site marker for the Saint Augustine Parish Church in Paoay, Ilocos Norte yesterday, 14 November 2024.
NHCP Chairperson Regalado Trota Jose, Jr., UNACOM Secretary-General Ivan Anthony S. Henares, and NCCA Chairperson Victorino Mapa Manalo (represented by Mr. Joseph Patrick Lee) presented the marker.
Rev. Fr. Ericson M. Josue, Head of the Commission for Church Heritage of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Laoag, and the Rev. Msgr. Romualde D. Batoon, EV, St. Augustine Parish Priest, received the marker.
Joining them in unveiling the markers is Paoay Mayor Shiela A. Galano who also delivered the welcome remarks.
The marker was installed through the efforts of the @NHCPofficial, UNESCO-Philippine National Commission (@unesco_phnatcom), and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (@nccaofficial).
