Palapat Festival
Masantol, Pampanga, Philippines
The palapat or mangrove apple is a common fruit used as a souring ingredient in the coastal towns of Pampanga such as Masantol and Sasmuan where mangroves are abundant. The Palapat Festival was started in 2019 to promote local tourism and the livelihood of the town from products made out of the abundant palapat in the area such as jams, tarts, candies, vinegar, condiments, juice, etc.
