PANAKAYON is a Hiligaynon word for ‘journey’ – & that’s where we’re going with @movingeyelands at @arcanatattooph (Bacolod) this Monday, December 19!
@movingeyelands is a nomad film screening initiative that promotes regional cinema for the people from the regions.
Even with the rise of regional Philippine filmmaking, there’s still a lack of access & value to watch diverse island stories.
Nalipay kami (we’re so happy) to curate alternative film viewing experiences outside the formal ‘cinema’ space & cultivate inter-island connections.
Come watch these short films:
WEST – Pagbutwa Hain sa Kaidalman (2021) by Denli Chavez @denlichavez
NORTH – I Wanna Be a Tutubi (2022) by James Benedict Calleja @dyemosaurus
SOUTH – Slip (2022) by Emperor Santiago @emperorjamesd
CENTER – Atay! Patay! (2022) by Jannah Corrine @crrnjmml
SOUTH – Lazaro’s Trip (2019) by Joy Dalman @joyherself_
EAST – Ilaw Ikaw (2022) by Moon Caharop @maryannecaharop
WEST – Ang Mga Damgo Para Lang sa Wala Nagakatulog (2020) by Richard Olano @chardolano
EAST – Pagbalud (2017) by Jericho Aliposa @jerxaliposa
We’re also cooking up a menu of munchies (via @kalamispiritarts) for our trip in all directions!
Salamat @arcanatattooph for hosting & holding space for these stories to be transmitted & witnessed
Arrive by 5:30 pm, films start at 6 pm.
