Reynaldo P. Arcenas Jr., Master Teacher
Pagsuporta sa 4Ps Bicol: In Palanas, Masbate, the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) has found staunch support in the familiar face of teacher Reynaldo Arcenas Jr., who was once a 4Ps staff of the DSWD Field Office V. Now a Master Teacher I at the Maravilla National High School, he is carrying his commitment to 4Ps’ goals over into his new mission of shaping his students’ future through teaching.
As the designated 4Ps coordinator of the said school, he conducts 4Ps orientations for co-teachers, co-organizes youth development sessions, and holds parental literacy programs and other activities that highlight education, children’s rights, and parental responsibilities. Additionally, he helps coordinate home visits for household beneficiaries with discrepancies in meeting the program criteria.
Teacher Reynaldo previously worked as a Listahanan staff and Social Welfare Assistant at the Department, where he said he learned valuable skills in situation management and service provision. Now, as an education champion, he said he attributes his current position to the valuable insights he learned in the past, including during his tenure at the DSWD.
The collaboration among DSWD FO V and government and non-government organizations is crucial in the strategic implementation of social welfare programs and services that are intended to improve the living conditions of poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged Bicolanos in the region.
