The National Museum of the Philippines is celebrating Rice Festival Week!
Proclamation No. 279, s. 1956 declared the last week of April as the week where special focus is put on finding sufficient and effective means of producing and processing rice, the country’s staple grain and one of our major economic products.
Appreciate the Philippine rural life nurtured by rice as depicted in Vicente Manansala’s 1962 series on display at Gallery XXII (International Rice Research Insitute Hall) of the National Museum of Fine Arts, and the “Pakhey, Humay, Palay: Rice, Biodiversity and Climate Change” exhibition at the National Musem of Anthropology.
