The order to send the first designated Russian Defense Attache to the Philippines was made on June 27, 2018.

Russia is determined to strengthen military and military-technical cooperation with the Philippines.

Natalia Naumova, an attache at the Russian Embassy in Manila said that no specific person was named yet.

In October of 2017, 5 Russian ships delivered 20 army trucks and 5,000 assault riffles to the Philippines.

The delivery of the Russian army trucks and assault rifles was preceded by President Duterte’s official visit to Russia in May of last year.
