He trained a new generation of designers through his work at the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila, and the CCP Production Design Center. In 1995, he established the Philippine Association of Theatre Designers and Technicians (PATDAT) and introduced Philippine theater design to the global stage through OISTAT. His innovative approach has transformed local theater production.
