A spindle whorl is a round object attached to a long thin stick, forming a tool known as the spindle. It is essential in making threads or fibers used in weaving.
A spindle is spun to twist and form the long threads from plant or animal fiber. Its whorl on the other hand serves as weight to increase and maintain the speed ot its spinning.
