St. Paul University – Malate
A former all-girls school located along Calle Herran (Pedro Gil Street). Established by the Congregation of Sisters of Saint Paul of Chartres in 1912 as the St. Paul Institution. The Chapel of the Crucified Christ was built in 1927 based on the designs of architect Andres Luna de San Pedro. Became St. Paul College of Manila In 1940. The campus was devastated in 7945 during the Battle of Manila. The campus was rebuilt and offerings expanded in the years after the war. Achieved university status in 2004. Became a co-ed
school in 2005.
