Kapampangan Oktoberfest:
TIGTIGAN TERAKAN KENG DALAN
Angeles City, Pampanga
Kapampángans have their own Oktoberfest held during the last Friday and Saturday of October in the infamously-known Sin City and Las Vegas of the Philippines—Angeles City which is the most populous Kapampángan City. The city’s Tigtigan Terakan keng Dalan (“Playing Music and Dancing on the Road”) is one of the largest street parties in the Philippines. This is held during the end of the city’s month-long fiesta in October called Fiestang Kuliat which is one of the longest festivals in the Philippines. The event was initiated as a celebration to commemorate Kapampángans’ triumph and progress after the 1991 Mt. Pinatubo eruption, the world’s largest volcanic eruption in the last 100 years.
