Solo Parents Entitled to a 10% Discount

Solo Parents are entitled to a 10% Discount and VAT exemption on purchases for children 6 and below. These include children’s milk, food, micronutrient supplements, sanitary diapers, duly prescribed medicines, vaccines, and other medical supplements.

Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui, Jr. signed Revenue Regulations (RR) 1-2023 implementing the Solo Parent Welfare Law (RA 11861), which entitles single parents who are earning less than PHP 250,000 annually to claim 10% discount and value-added tax exemption for purchases of goods for their children aged six years old and below.

Solo parents must present their Solo Parent Identification Card (SPIC) and Solo Parent Booklet to avail of the benefits.
