With the signing of the agreement, the ESA will implement the Copernicus program in the Philippines, the first country in Southeast Asia with such an agreement and the 2nd in the world. With €10 million in funding from EU bilateral development cooperation, CopPhil will allow for better earth observation activities in areas such as disaster risk management, climate adaptation, and atmosphere monitoring.
