The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) is celebrating its 2nd year with the theme “Gabay mula Kalawakan, Tanglaw sa Pagbangon.” PhilSA highlights the role of space science and technology applications (SSTA) and innovations in the country’s recovery from the pandemic, and in forging the nation’s path toward digital governance and knowledge economy.

- August 8, 2019: Republic Act No.11363 was signed into law.
- January 8, 2020: First Director-General of PhilSA appointed.
- March 5, 2020: Dr. Marciano was sworn in as the first Director-General.
- March 24, 2020: Twenty-eight (28) executive positions were approved by the DBM.
- August 2020: Executive staff personnel under the office of the Director-General were hired with approval from the DBM.
- May 2020: Meetings held with members of the Philippine Space Council (PSC), the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Civil Service Commission (CSC), Bureau of Treasury, and other government agencies. Consultations on the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA 11363 were conducted and completed.
- September 2020: Social Media presence launched.
- October 2020: (02-10 October) World Space Week is celebrated through various online events. (09 October) The first PSC meeting was held.
- November 2020: (04 November) Hiring for PhilSA positions commenced. (09 November) The second PSC meeting was held.
- April 14, 2021: The third PSC meeting was held.
- January 11, 2021: First Deputy Director General appointed.
- June 2021: PhilSA signed a landmark agreement with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA). PhilSA signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). PhilSA unveiled a collaboration with S4S in building the Multispectral Unit for Land Assessment (MULA) satellite.
