On this day, March 6, is the death of Hilaria del Rosario (1921), wife of President Emilio Aguinaldo, founder of Hijas dela Revolucion which became Asociacion Nacional de la Cruz Roja.

On this day in 1924, the Egyptian government opened the mummy case of king Tutankhamun which was previously discovered by Howard Carter.

On this day in 1869, Dmitry Mendeleev published his first edition of the periodic table of elements. In the final version he published in 1871 he left blanks for elements he hoped would be discovered in the future.
