The Cultural and Heritage Site we’re going to feature is Mausoleo de los Veteranos de la Revolucion in North Cemetery in Manila City.

The historic Mausoleo is designed by the Architect, Arcadio Arellano, in the 1920s, solely built for the remains of the veterans of the 1896 Philippine Revolution and Philippine-American War, yet many of the remains were moved to their respective hometown cemeteries.

The mausoleum was declared a National Historical Monument in 1993.

The Mausoleo de los Veteranos de la Revolucion is a pantheon of heroes and veterans of the 1896 Philippine Revolution and the Philippine-American War. The mausoleum was built in 1915 under the patronage of Asosacion de los Veteranos de la Revolucion, an organization of revolutionary veterans headed by Emilio Aguinaldo. Currently, many of these remains were exhumed and transferred to their respective hometowns.

Filipino architect Arcadio Arellano designed the structure, which was inaugurated in 1920. In 1993, the mausoleum was proclaimed as a National Historical Monument.

Figures currently or formerly interred in the mausoleum include General Pio del Pilar, General Mariano Noriel, and Marcelo H. del Pilar among others.
