DYK: Pan-ay River Watershed Forest Reserve is a vital source of water for the whole province of Capiz and some parts of Aklan and Iloilo.
It is also the source of floodwaters during heavy rains and storms. It was proclaimed as a watershed under Presidential Proclamation No. 599 on June 28, 1990, by then-President Corazon C. Aquino.
It covers an area of 4,350 hectares of public forest within the barangays of Abangay, Nayawan, Tacayan, Aglinab, Acuna, Daan Sur, Daan Norte, Lahug, and Roxas in the Municipality of Tapaz, Capiz.
