The Philippines and Armenia
The Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Armenia celebrate 31 years of formal diplomatic relations. The two countries established diplomatic relations on May 20, 1992.
Common Grounds
Both the Philippines and Armenia have a large diaspora – one-tenth of Filipinos and two-thirds of Armenians live abroad. Both are also strong chess nations, World Chess Hall of Fame Eugene Torre is Asia’s first Grandmaster since 1974 while Tigran Petrosian was World Chess Champion from 1963 to 1969.
