SAINT CECILIA’S HALL
ANDRES SAN PEDRO LUNA, BUILT IN 1932
St. Cecilia’s Hall is a concert hall designed by Ar. Andres Luna de San Pedro for the Conservatory of Music of St. Scholastica’s College in Malate district. The hall was named after the patron saint of music, St. Cecilia. It was built in 1932 by the famed engineering firm of Pedro Siochi. After construction, it became a popular venue for concerts and musical recitals. Unfortunately, it was destroyed during the Liberation of Manila in 1945. It had taken 10 years for the hall to be rebuilt under the team of Ar. Roberto Novenario and Engr. Ramon del Rosario. Due to its contribution to the culture and music of the hall to the nation, it was declared as a National Cultural Landmark by the National Historical Institute.
