On this day, April 20, in 1654, Archbishop Miguel Poblete laid the foundation stone of the Cathedral in Manila. This is the fourth cathedral to be built after an earthquake destroyed the third cathedral in 1645. The current cathedral is the eighth to be built after other disasters including WW II.
