Maleldo

While Kapampángans are known for their Christmas celebrations, Holy Week is still the most traditionally and religiously practiced holiday for a lot of them. Pampanga is known for its extreme Lenten rituals that are a testament to Kapampángans being considered one of the most deeply religious Catholic ethnolinguistic groups in the Philippines. One tradition that is quite well-known is the San Pedro Cutud Lenten Rites which culminates with the actual nailing of penitents after the reenactment of the crucifixion of Jesus.
