On this day, March 10, in 1947 an attempt to kill President Manuel Roxas took place when Julio Guillen threw a grenade at him. He was saved by Gen. Mariano CastaƱeda but 2 were killed in the grenade explosion. The incident took place in Plaza Miranda.
