Historical Landas ng Pagkabansang Pilipino Marker in Caba, La Union, Unveiled
The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) unveiled and turned over the historical marker “𝐂𝐀𝐁𝐀 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐒 𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐀𝐆𝐊𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐎” to the Municipality of Caba, La Union on 25 November 2024. This marker is part of a series that follows the trail of the First Philippine Republic as it endures to preserve Filipino sovereignty during the Philippine-American War 1899-1901.
NHCP Deputy Executive Director for Programs and Projects Alvin R. Alcid turned over the marker to Caba Mayor Donna R. Crispino in the presence of Councilor Charlyn F. Reyes and other officials and personnel from the local government. Caba Vice Mayor Ronnie P. Mangaser likewise welcomed the NHCP and expressed the thanks of the community for recognizing the role of the historic town of Caba in the story of the First Philippine Republic, the town that birthed famous Ilocano revolutionary hero Diego Silang.
