President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. inaugurated the first 5.15-kilometer section of the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project at the new España Toll Plaza on March 27, 2023.
The new expressway is expected to reduce traffic congestion in Manila. With entry and exit ramps located at C3 Road and España, travel time between Caloocan and Manila will be reduced to just five minutes, benefiting the movement of cargo and goods, especially from the Port of Manila.
Finance Secretary Benjamin E. Diokno, @dpwhph Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, @dotrphilippines Secretary Jaime Bautista, @mpicorporation Manuel V. Pangilinan, and NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi L. Bautista attended the inauguration alongside the President.
