The panalagadan or panalogadan of the Maranao is a brass vessel often found in Maranao homes. It serves various purposes as a decorative item, centerpiece, or flower vase. The Maranaos choose brass for their metalware as it approximates gold and because of the color yellow which is associated with nobility. The panalagadan is given in dozens as dowry and are treasured heirlooms.
