Quiapo’s Iconic Places of Worship
Religion continues to play an important part in the lives of many Filipinos today, just as it did in the past. Quiapo is famous for the Friday devotions to the Black Nazarene at Quiapo Church, as well as devotions to Our Lady of Mount Carmel at the all-steel San Sebastian Church. But it is not only Christianity that has a major religious landmark in Quiapo. There is also Islam, whose worshippers and community revolve around the Golden Mosque.
Out of the many places of worship in Quiapo, these three are considered by many to be the most important.
- Quiapo Church (Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene,
- San Sebastian Church (Minor Basilica of San Sebastian),
- Golden Mosque (Masjid Al-Dahab).
