World’s third deepest point in the ocean

With a depth of 10.54 kilometers below sea level, Philippine Trench, also known as Philippine Deep, is the world’s third deepest point in the ocean.
This trench spreads in a length of 1,320 km and 30km in width in the east of the Philippines. It was formed due to a collision between the Eurasian Plate and the smaller Philippine plate.
The other major trenches in the Philippine sea include
- Manila Trench,
- East Luzon Trench,
- Negros Trench,
- Sulu Trench and
- Cotabato Trench.
