On this day, April 9, in 1942 the USAFFE forces led by Gen. Edward P King Jr. surrendered to the Japanese. In 1961 passed RA No. 3022 designates April 9 of every year as Bataan Day. In 1983, EO No. 203 called it the Day of Bravery. RA No. 9492 s2007 Bravery Day was moved to April 9 or the closest Monday to this date.
