On this day, September 1, 111 years ago, the Philippine General Hospital opened its doors to the public on September 1, 1910. Administered under the auspices of the University of the Philippines, it is now the country’s premier government hospital serving the Filipino people.
The Philippine General Hospital, established in 1907, opened its doors to the public. It was inaugurated ten days later and remained open for service during the Second World War.
The PGH has become a tertiary state-owned hospital operated by the University of the Philippines-Manila and the largest training hospital in the country.
