Francisco Makabulos Historical Marker
The National Historical Commission of the Philippines and the Municipal Government of La Paz, Tarlac led the celebration of General Francisco Makabulos’ 150th birth anniversary on 17 September 2021.
Makabulos is best known for leading the Revolution in Tarlac and establishing a revolutionary government in Central Luzon in April 1898. He also served in local government during the American occupation.
Among the highlights of the event was the unveiling of a historical marker and monument to Makabulos and the groundbreaking for the reconstruction of his home.
A wreath was offered to the monument by NHCP Chairman Dr. Rene R. Escalante accompanied by La Paz Mayor Venustiano Jordan.
The life and achievements of Makabulos was discussed in a sesquicentennial lecture by Dr. Lino L. Dizon on 18 September 2021, at 2:00 PM.
