On this week we are reminded of the rights of the elderly population to proper food,
shelter, clothing, and health care.

During this period, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department
of Health, Department of Education, Culture and Sports, Department of the Interior
and Local Government, and Coalition of Services for the Elderly (COSE) shall
coordinate with and provide the necessary assistance to the Federation of Senior
Citizens Associations of the Philippines (FSCAP), a non-government organization with
nationwide machinery for carrying out the activities for the week.

The Secretary of Social Welfare and Development shall chair the national committee it
is to constitute, with FSCAP as permanent Secretariat.
