Malate Church – Malate, Manila

Officially known as the Nuestra Señora de los Remedios Parish. Established in 1588 by Augustinian friars. The parish of Malate (also known as Laguio or Lagunoi) included Ermita (until 1610) and Pasay, then known as Pineda (until 1863). The image of Our Lady of Remedios was brought to the church in 1624. Damaged and rebuilt numerous times. The current building dates from 1864. Destroyed by fire during World War 2, leaving only the walls standing. Rebuilt in the 1950s.
