Marang is a fruit that is comparable to jackfruit (langka) and durian, since they are of the same genus, Artocarpus. Its difference from Durian is that it has a sweet smell rather than a pungent smell.

It is cultivated in parts of Mindanao, specifically in Davao, North Cotabato, and Agusan. Its seeds are covered in white meat (flesh).

The fruit is filled with vitamins and other nutrients, including protein, calcium, beta-carotene, retinol, vitamins A and C, and iron. It is also a natural treatment for constipation. It is also good for athletes since it is filled with carbohydrates, which replenish energy levels.

Note that it should be eaten immediately once opened since it oxidizes fast, affecting its flavor.
