The Metro Cebu Expressway, also known as the Naga-Danao Bypass Road, spans over 50 kilometers (km.) long high-standard arterial road that comes with tunnels and viaduct technology which will provide seamless traffic flow from Naga City to Danao City and is expected to be completed by June 2022 right before President Rodrigo Duterte ends his term.
The South to North Bypass Road along the hills of Metro Cebu is under the “Build, Build, Build” program of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. It costs P28 billion.
The expressway is divided into three segments:
- 1st – Minglanilla/Talisay Boundary-Cebu City-Mandaue/Consolacion Boundary;
- 2nd – Mandaue-Consolacion Boundary to Danao City;
- 3rd – Naga City-Minglanilla/Talisay Boundary.
To date, another portion of 4.2km from segment 3 is still in progress which is composed of 2.5 km targeted to be finished in December this year, while the 1.7km stretch is expected to be accomplished by June 2022.
