What is the S and T (S & T) undergraduate scholarship (DOST Scholarship)?

There are 2 Types of Scholarship

1. Under Republic Act No.7687, S & T scholarships are awarded to poor, talented, and deserving students who belong to families whose socio-economic status does not exceed the set values of certain indicators.

2. The DOST-SEI Merit scholarships are awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and who are willing to pursue careers in the fields of science and technology.

What are the eligibility requirements under the Type 1 scholarship?

  • The applicant must be natural-born Filipino Citizen
  • Must be a poor, talented, and deserving student who belongs to a family whose socio-economic
    status does not exceed the set values of certain indicators
  • Must be a member of the Senior High School STEM Strand graduating class; or
  • Must be a member of the Top 5% of the Senior High School Non-STEM Strand graduating class
  • Must be a resident of the municipality for the last 4 years as attested by the barangay
  • Must be of good moral character and in good health
  • Must be a qualifier of the 2020 S&T Undergraduate Scholarship Examination

What are the eligibility requirements under the Type 2 scholarship?

  • Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen
  • Must be a member of the senior high school STEM Strand graduating class; or
  • Must be a member of the top 5% of the senior high school Non-STEM Strand graduating class
  • Must be with good moral character and in good health
  • Must be a qualifier of the 2020 S&T Undergraduate Scholarship Examination

Where is the Study Placement?

Successful DOST scholar applicants shall enroll at

  • State Universities and Colleges (SUC)
  • CHED identified center of excellence (COE) or centers of development (COD) for the S&T
    programs covered under the DOST-SEI undergraduate scholarship
  • Institutions with (FAAP) Level III Accreditation for the S&T programs covered under the
    DOST-SEI undergraduate scholarship

  • Free Tuition and School Fees
  • Transportation Allowance
  • Book Allowance
  • Group Accident Insurance
  • Monthly Living Allowance
  • Graduation Clothing Allowance
  • MS/PE Uniform Allowance
