Cabra Island Lighthouse to be rehabilitated
Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral George V Ursabia Jr, and PCG District Southern Tagalog Commander, Commodore Tito Alvin G Andal visited the Cabra Island Lighthouse situated at Lubang, Occidental Mindoro on 16 April 2021.
The PCG intends to rehabilitate the historic lighthouse to intensify Coast Guard’s presence in the vicinity waters of Occidental Mindoro.
Said lighthouse was built to guide vessels from the West Philippine Sea towards Manila Bay or the center of the Philippine archipelago through Verde Island Passage which is considered one of the busiest sea routes in the country.
