English or Filipino translation is now required for business materials.
Beginning in August, the business materials of business establishments in the Philippines must be translated into English or Filipino.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has issued a Department Administrative Order which requires businesses to place an English or Filipino translation on their materials.
This is the DTI’s action after the inspection at a Chinese food park in Las PiƱas in May where 33 establishments have signage, price lists, and receipts written only in Chinese.
These business materials include:
- Signages
- Billboards
- Advertisements
- Brochures
- Flyers
- Notices
- Advisories
- Labels
- Price Tag/Lists
- Menus
- Receipts
- Business Marketing Materials
