Humabon Historical Marker
The National Historical Commission of the Philippines and the Cebu City Government unveiled yesterday, 23 May 2022, a historical marker commemorating Humabon, the leader of Sugbo who welcomed the Magellan expedition in April 1521.
The marker was unveiled by NHCP Chairman Dr. Rene R. Escalante and Cebu City Mayor Michael L. Rama. Joining them are Cebu City Vice Mayor Donaldo Hontiveros and NHCP OIC-Deputy Executive Director Alvin R. Alcid.
The unveiling was followed by a dinner and cultural show hosted by the Cebu City Government at Plaza Independencia.
