On this day, February 7, in 1986, a snap election took place for the presidency and second president of the Philippines. Today is also the death day of National Artist Jose Garcia Villa (1997).

On this day in 1964, the Beatles arrived in New York. Two days later, they performed on the Ed Sullivan Show to an audience of 73 million people.

On this day in 1896 x-rays were first used in the medical field for a 12-year-old boy who shot himself in the wrist. When the surgeons couldn’t find the bullet, they asked Oliver Lodge to test his invention on the boy. Lodge found the bullet buried in the bones.
