SK Mandatory Training is required before the newly elected members of the
sangguniang kabataan begin assume their office and discharge their functions.
The SK Mandatory Training lasts for 10 days.
All those proclaimed winners in the recently concluded SK elections are required
to undergo the said SK Mandatory training in accordance with the provision
of RA 10742 otherwise known as the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015.
The National Youth Commission and the Department of Interior and LocalĀ Government (DILG) with the assistance of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP),
the Local Government Academy (LGA), the University of the Philippines-National College
of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG) and in consultation with youth
stakeholders shall jointly design and implement the mandatory and continuing training
programs.
The SK mandatory training programs include among others, the following components:
- Philippine, Cultural history, Political Systems Ethics and Ideologies
- Filipino as a nation builder
- Filipino youth and its role in nation-building
- Capability building on leadership, program and project development and
sustainability, financial management, and accountability and transparency
The Sangguniang Kabataan training fund is managed by the National Youth Commission.
The SK Mandatory Training shall be conducted by the Local Youth Development Office.
